This piece from Admiral Das is all crap. Role Models like him have caused permanent damage and dent in the image of the Armed Forces. The reason is so obvious...the academies are short in Officer intake and lot of Officers quitting. Surely more damage is done writing about non issues which has no relevance to great majority of soldiers whose pension is peanuts. The pay commissions having duped the soldiers all along are now having the last laugh reading about idealism, heroism, medals, courage, honour- advocated by Admiral Das. His kind will never inspire us!

Amazing. Such people as Admiral Das rose to the rank of Vice Admiral and commanded a large body of men.We were fortunate not to have a war when he was at the helm. I come from a family of Civil servants.They enjoy far greater benefits well into their retirement.
